[Kurukulla] Feng Shui chat by Ven. Jampa Ludrup - Friday, 9/25, 7 to 9 pm

Dear Kurukulla Community,

We have a couple of very exciting projects coming up soon, and we need your help to make them happen. This is a great opportunity to make offerings of service for the benefit of all sentient beings – and some of the tasks are really easy to do! Easy merit!

The first project is a Feng Shui chat by Ven. Jampa Ludrup. Ven. Jampa has visited the Center before and is returning to Boston 9/24 – 9/30. There will be a general talk (free of charge – we will make an offering to Ven. Jampa from any offerings collected during the event) on Friday, 9/25, 7 to 9 pm, followed by opportunities to have private consultations with Ven. Jampa for those who are interested (please coordinate with Ven. Jampa directly).

We need your help to make this happen. We'll provide the necessary information to do the tasks and will help keep things coordinated.

How you can help us:

Transportation

  • Pick-up at Logan on 9/24.
  • Drop-off at Logan on 9/30.
  • One or two runs to the supermarket.

Promoting The Event

  • Write a simple 1-page flier based on Ven. Jampa's website (http://www.jlgeomancy.com).
  • Make copies of the flier and post a few copies at KKC.
  • Mail a few copies of the flier to nearby Dharma centers.
  • Post fliers at suitable venues. If you can post one or two fliers in your local supermarket, SPA, yoga center or similar location, we can e-mail you the flier (or mail you a printed copy if you don't have a color printer).
  • Create a modified version of the flier, suitable for on-line publishing. We will use this modified version to post on our website, Boston.com, Craigslist, and any other sites where public events are publicized. If you know of any good sites, please let us know. We'd also like to have something on Facebook and Tweeter, so let us know if you use those and could post something for us.

Setup

  • Unlock/open doors & windows
  • Turn on lights
  • Set up tea station
  • Set up zabutons & cushions
  • Turn audio equipment on
  • Set up laptop, overhead projector & screen
  • Set up whiteboard, markers & eraser

During The Event

  • Greet visitors and be prepared to help them around the Center. One or two people would be nice.

Cleanup

  • Put away whiteboard, markers & eraser
  • Put away laptop, overhead projector & screen
  • Turn audio equipment off
  • Put zabutons & cushions away
  • Tidy tea station
  • Turn off lights
  • Close/lock doors & windows

Do as much or as little as you feel comfortable. It is more important that we make a collective, community effort that is easy for everyone to tackle than for any individual to try to do it all. For example, if you think you could write the flier but are not comfortable posting it, please write the flier; and someone else can post it! Note that some of these tasks can be done remotely and on your schedule – even if you are out of state you can still give us a hand!

Please contact me as soon as possible (sean@kurukulla.org) to discuss how you would like to help with this event. Thank you for your efforts and contributions!

Much love,

Sean,

Assistant Director
